This shows how a water lily plant growing in 88 days from a tuber to blooming. The chosen variety was a cold hardy Nymphaea Colossea. The tuber was burried into a container that was half-filled with muds and water. It then started developing lots of pads/leaves, which floated on the surface. After 70 days, a bud shot up and bloomed into a white water lily flower. It then kept developing more leaves and flowers.
Water lily flowers typically bloom with their petals widely opening during the day. By sun-down, the petals will shut themselves and resembled their bud-like form. These cycles will repeat for some period before wilting. If flowers are pollinated, seeds will be developed inside.
