This is Geely's first MPV, and it's a hit!

Explore Geely's history and its first MPV, the Jiaji. In March 2019, this car became a hit with families and ride-sharing drivers in China and Southeast Asia. Despite a hard disk failure, I finished this film to examine this flexible and beautiful MPV.

The Geely Jiaji shows the company's transition after buying Volvo in 2009. Before this crucial acquisition, Geely was unknown and made small, unreliable automobiles and refrigerators. Geely's production and design capabilities changed after the Volvo takeover, resulting in the Jiaji's quality and innovation.

Driving the Geely Jiaji, I noticed its sturdy build and luxury. With its low and wide stance, this MPV defies the minivan design and offers sportier driving without compromising three-row seats or a roomy interior. From the colorful wheels that match the vehicle's body to the smooth lines leading to the sloping C-pillar, Geely's design combines aesthetics and functionality.

Comfort and sophistication are found in the Jiaji's interior. The actual leather steering wheel, spacious seating, and clever dashboard make the car feel more like a living room. In its early days, Geely founder Li Shufu challenged the firm to construct a "sofa on wheels," which it has evidently done.

Beyond its appearance, this MPV is a status symbol in China, where large luxury MPVs signify prosperity for families and businesspeople. The Geely Jiaji's wagon-like appearance and minivan functionality set it apart from competitors.

Geely has used Volvo's lessons to improve its brand, as seen by the Jiaji. Its fast rise from a small manufacturer to China's largest automobile firm is a testament to vision, determination, and invention.
