Butter Chicken with Naan Recipe


Ingredients:


For Butter Chicken:


500g-800g  boneless chicken, cut into cubes

2 tbsp butter

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 tomatoes, finely chopped 

1 -2 inch  ginger

 -4-5 garlic cloves 

1/2 cup beaten yougrt 

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chili powder

1 tsp coriander powder

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander leaves for garnish


 For Naan:


2 cups wheat  flour

1/2 cup yogurt

1/4 cup warm water

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp salt


Butter for brushing


Instructions:


 

Butter Chicken:


1. Marinate the Chicken:in a bowl, mix the chicken cubes with  turmeric powder, red chili,sumak  powder, lemon and salt. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hours.


2. Cook the Chicken:Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan and cook the marinated chicken until it's fully cooked. Remove and set aside.


3. Prepare the Sauce:In the same pan, add the remaining butter and sauté the onions until golden brown.with spices (cumin seeds,cloves, black pepper, cardamom,green cardamom, cinnamon stick)Add ginger,garlic and cook for another minute.


4. Add Spices and Tomatoes:Add cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well. Add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala.


5. Combine and Simmer:Add the cooked chicken to the sauce.  let it simmer for 10-15 minutes. Adjust salt to taste.

6. Garnish: Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.


Naan:


1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add yogurt and oil, and mix well. Gradually add warm water to form a soft dough.


2. Rest the Dough: Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 2 hours.


3. Shape the Naan: Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into an oval shape using a rolling pin.


4. Cook the Naan: Heat a skillet over

 medium-high heat. Place the rolled dough on the skillet. When bubbles start to form, flip it over and cook the other side. Brush with butter.


5. Serve:Serve hot with butter chicken.
