Silly me, I was upset that my 10th-floor room at Travelodge by Wyndham Montréal Centre was not facing boulevard René-Lévesque ouest, as I had been promised by both a front-desk employee on the phone several days earlier and the clerk who checked me in. When I first looked out of the window, it was nighttime. Well, what a difference a morning makes. Pas mal ... I looked past the nearby, dismal rooftops and focused my eyes farther afield, where:

In the distance are Montréal City hall (l'Hôtel de Ville) and the pretty Ferris wheel, called le Grand Roue de Montréal. In the far distance are the Laurentian Mountains, which form part of the Canadian shield.
