Whelp, here’s a Ford animatic, as promised! We give Ford a lot of crap on this channel, most of which is frankly deserved, but you gotta sympathize with the guy a little. His whole life he was an outcast because of something he couldn’t control, and right when that was about to change, the one person he thought he could count on, in his eyes, betrayed him. And then the shapeshifter and bill. And he began to push people away before they could turn on him like they always did, like Mcgucket, never realizing HE was the problem. The paranoia he had built up to protect himself from an unforgiving world only ended up hurting him and the people he claimed to care for. He would find something or someone new that grabbed his interest or stood to benefit his pursuits, and once the novelty wore off tossed them to the side. So yeah, Ford’s not free from blame, and Stan, at least in my opinion, definitely holds the high ground out of the two of them, despite having his own flaws, but he’s also kinda tragic. He’s trapped in a prison of his own making, pride and paranoia, and hurt the people who tried to set him free of it. He has no excuse for his frankly cruel behavior, but I think we all know what it’s like to be trapped in our own convictions, in so deep in believing we’re right that we can’t bring ourselves to admit that may not be the case, even if we want to. That’s just a tragic part of human nature, one Ford encompasses beautifully.
