“Support Local” means a lot to many people in the wake of the pandemic. Faced with the real possibility of shutting down or scaling She Lion back, we were dismayed at what was happening to local business in Melbourne and Australia.

Motivated to find a wholly tangible way to give back to the community, our Founder Kate embarked on a mission to create a new range of products with an end-to-end, wholly Australian supply chain.

The concept? A new range of feel-good garments made from natural fibres, with as many processes as possible completed in Melbourne.

We put a call out to a local garment manufacturer and what followed was a collective effort in overwhelming kindness and compassion. In total, 22 businesses from a Melbourne knitting mill through to a Melbourne distribution centre came together to bring the sweaters to life.

The new range of oversized, luxe cotton sweatshirts features empowering words “Actually, I Can” and “Support Local”. They’re much more than a slogan though, by purchasing one, you’ll be directly helping to keep fashion manufacturing firmly on Aussie soil.
