BAWA DANCE
Bawa dance is performed by the Dagaaba people in the Upper West Region of Ghana. The communities that perform this dance are the people of Namdom, Lawra, Kokoligu, etc.
The dance was created after a conflict between two Great warlords (Samori and Baba Touri). Samori threw a celebration after defeating the former (Babatouri). During the celebration of victory over Babatouri brought up the creation of Bawa dance.
