hello! i recently started journaling this year and it has been great. i've tried journaling before in the past, but it never really became a habit or part of my routine. this time, i really made it a point to do it often. i started writing almost everyday in the beginning, whether in the morning or at night, for about a couple of weeks. i'm not the most consistent, but i think having the resolve to really commit to it, and also making it a part of my "identity" to be a "journaling girlie" really helped to make it stick. so far i've only been writing about things that have happened, what i've been doing, or what i plan to do. i don't really write much about my own feelings or what i've been thinking. on the times that i have, i just end up being emotional. i have cried before lol just because things came up to the surface that i was unaware of, or that i had unconsciously suppressed. so far it has been a great experience, and i really enjoy doing it. i also like that it's kind of like an archive of memories. i made it a point to write down the date, so that when i look back and read old entries, i can reminisce and be reminded of what i did and things i thought about at that point in time. highly recommend journaling!
