How to obtain the bistre and the basic colors for the composition of the tones

The colors and tones in oil painting.
The names of colors are important and many of them arise from common use and pass from one meaning to another and this is what enters the common language and remains.
This is the case of the so-called Bistre.
I give a short introduction to the video which will be followed by a practical test of the creation of the bistre color and how to use it in painting
The bistre, is an ancient color whose name derives from the Greek "bystra" which means soot, and in fact with soot it was prepared by thickening it with natural substances and water.
An organic pigment, therefore, is not very resistant but covers depending on the amount of water in which it was diluted and which has been used for a long time.
It was then replaced with the mineral bistre which was nothing more than manganese hydrate.
The pigment still exists today but that's not what we're going to talk about,
but rather of the bistre or pictorial black which is in reality only a name given to a particular pictorial practice which is to mix in equal proportion three colors considered primary, namely, primary yellow, magenta, and cyan. What we call, the bistre, is used in place of black to give the dark hue of the three primary colors I have named.
But here lies the linguistic deception if you want.
The resultant of any sum of colors contribute to the formation of a color that I can mix with the colors I have used individually precisely because it is formed with them.
Does it follow that the name bistre is fine for this color but for the others? The other colors that are not primary and that when mixed make a mixture equally compatible?
More than a color therefore it is a pictorial practice that it is important to follow if you want to expand the palette with a color that has the fundamental characteristics of being a sum of all the other colors and being so dark that it can represent the deepest shade, without the limits of black which, not being a result of these three colors, does not have this property.
But the time has come to watch this short but substantial video
And now I invite you to subscribe to the channel and I will tell you before starting the video you will like if you liked it, which you will share on your social profiles and which you will comment under the description.
A really big thank you to everyone and good vision.
