After the Second World War ended, another war, called “the Cold War,” between the Americans and the Russians, began. And though it was “cold” war, as opposed to an openly shooting and bombing war, there was one time when it came close to not just becoming a real war, but a nuclear one at that. Many believe, however, that the brave actions one man – Oleg Penkovsky – saved the world from destruction.
