Recipe for Baklava:
Ingredients
16 oz phyllo dough thawed by package instructions
1 1/4 cups unsalted butter 10 oz or 2 1/2 sticks, melted
1 lb walnuts, chopped (about 4 cups)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup honey

Direction:
1.) Thaw phyllo dough the night before. Make sure you have a 9x13 sized pan
2.) Trim all the phyllo dough to fit the pan. Cut using a knife.
3.) Cover with damp cloth to prevent dough from drying out.
4.) Brush melted butter on the bottom and sides of the pan.
5.) In a pot, melt honey, sugar, and water, stir to dissolve. Heat on medium/high heat until it boils. Then lower to medium/low and boil 4 minutes more. Remove from heat, and cool. Syrup must be completely cooled before use or it'll tear into dough.
6.) Chop walnuts, add into bowl and mix in cinnamon.
7.) Add a layer of phyllo dough into pan and brush on melted better. Do this a total for 10 times for the first layer before adding 3/4 cup walnut mix.
8.) Add 5 layers of phyllo dough with butter on each layer, add 3/4 cup walnut mix. Repeat this step with the 5 layers and walnut 4 times.
9.) Finish off with 10 layers of phyllo/butter.
10.) Cut across 3 times, and cut across diagonally.
11.) Bake 325F 1 hr and 25 mins. Drizzle cooled honey water over hot baklava
