I was diagnosed with GIST Stage 3a 5 years ago and I took 3 years 400mg Imatinib as adjuvant therapy. I didn't realize that after stopping it for two years it will come back that I had to go for surgery.
My surgery was done at Philippine General Hospital in Ermita Manila and it lasted for 10 hours. All the tumors are removed so with half of my liver and my ovary too. Now I'm waiting for the test to see if I need a higher dosage of Imatinib or another drug to control the disease.
