Shotguns can be excellent tools for home defense, but their long overall length presents some challenges for maneuvering in tight spaces. Today we're looking at a technique called "short stocking" that was developed to meet those challenges. Short stocking has long been used by law enforcement and other entry teams but it's equally relevant for the armed citizen at home.

The demo pump shotgun used in the "talking head" portions of this video is an off-the-shelf Remington 870 with an 18.5" barrel.

The shooting demo was done with a Remington 870 with a Magpul stock and a (very) old Surefire forend with a Malkoff Devices LED conversion.

The semi-auto in the shooting demo is a Beretta 1301 Tactical with an Aimpoint micro and Magpul furniture with adapters and a shell carrier from Aridus Industries.
