Have you ever filled up your pool with water from your exterior faucet and your kids wont even play in it because its too cold? Well this parent life hack will fix that problem.

All you need is a hose, preferably heavy duty so it doesn't kink, a pot (optional) and something to weigh the hose down, we used a 8lbs barbell.

The key to this parent life hack is getting the siphon to start. If the hose is empty this can be difficult as you need to prime the hose first. The best way to do this is fill the hose before you start. Then, once its submerged in water, start sucking on the hose to make sure the hose if full. If the siphon doesn't start easily, a trick is to blow into the hose and to help the siphon get started.

What is a Siphon?

A siphon is a tube that allows liquid to travel upward, above the surface of the origin reservoir, then downwards to a lower level without using a pump.

When a certain amount of water moves over the bend in the siphon, gravity pulls it down on the longer leg lowers the atmospheric pressure in the bend of the siphon.
