The fugue is often cited as one of the most significant forms of the Baroque era, much as the sonata is for the Classical era. It epitomizes the idea of using counterpoint to develop a composition from a single main theme. In this video post, I give a brief overview of the typical form of a fugue, using a very short composition of mine as an example.
