In this second video, we’re going on a deep dive into XPath expressions in Power Automate.

Using no premium connectors or apply to each loops, we take three sets of data in json format and manipulate that data using XPath expressions. This includes grouping and ungrouping (or “exploding”) that data, adding looked-up properties and merging whole objects together efficiently.

We then take the updated data and use some numerical XPath functions to answer some questions on the example data.

We do all of the above by testing the expressions outside of Power Automate using a small .NET console application in Visual Studio. This way, we are less likely to come across XPath expressions that are not compatible with Power Automate.
