John Rojo is a rarity amongst artists and artisans. Whereas many are talented in one medium, John Rojo expresses a broad range of talent across several mediums. He enjoys working with clay and his pottery is renown for its visual impact. Functionality is not a concern - John emphasises shape and form as a priority. His sculptures are equally provocative, at times controversial, always displaying a vivid imagination and created with superb craftsmanship. His delicate watercolors seem incongruous amongst the ochre earthiness of his clay pieces, whilst his photographs demonstrate the artist's ability to appreciate shape and light. He is one of the very few Australian potters who have constructed and regularly use a climbing kiln to fire his work.

This film focuses on John's ceramics journey and the firing of his work using the climbing kiln in late 2023. It's release coincides with his 'Rojo: A Life's Journey' exhibition at the Stockyards Gallery in Foster, Victoria , Australia in February 2024.

John lives and creates his art near Yarram in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.
