In this video, I show how to cut a plate out of wood. To make the plate, I use raw birch. Deciduous trees are best for dishes. Aspen and linden best tolerate contact with water.

To make the plate, I used the following tools: an ax, a semicircular chisel (4 cm wide), a Morakniv and Beaver Craft knife hook, a band saw, a Yakut knife 13 cm blade length.

How to dry a plate ?: Wrap in rags and dry for three weeks. Change rags every day.

How to soak a plate ?: You can use linseed oil. Soak liberally with linseed oil. The plate should dry for three months. The oil must polymerize.
