The Javanese and Sundanese are known as the two largest tribes in Indonesia. Java is number one, Sunda is number two. In the population survey of the Central Statistics Agency in 2010, the population of Java is around 95.2 million people, or 40.22% of the total population of Indonesia. As for the Sundanese, there are 36.7 million people, or equal to 15.5% of the total population of Indonesia. They live on the same island, but why are their languages different? And who exactly is older than Java and Sunda?
