Final Assembly series part 5

We do a prestart checklist on all of the fluids and lubrication points on the early Cat D4. This is a rough overview that should cover Caterpillar RD4 & D4 models 1936-1959. Some late 7U models have a hydraulic assist clutch & a transmission oil dipstick. This covers most coolant, oil and grease points. These are the fluids and greases we're going to use. not necessarily what you should use in your application. Selecting the correct fluids, oils and greases depends on your working environment and/or ambient temperatures. Overall, progress continues on the 1939 Cat D4 / RD4 agricultural crawler / dozer with a D4400 diesel engine. 4G9986 "Lil Lefty" has never been so much fun and fulfilling.
