陸軍船舶兵出身であり吉阪隆正の弟子であった渡邊洋治は狂気の建築家、異端の建築家と呼ばれた。代表作である通称「軍艦マンション」はRC造の本体にスチール製の外壁ユニットを取り付けた軍艦をモチーフとしたデザインの建物。竣工時は「第3スカイビル」といい、その後「ニュースカイビル」、現在は「GUNKAN東新宿ビル」に改称されている。

Yoji Watanabe, a former army mariner and a disciple of Takamasa Yoshisaka, was called a mad architect and a maverick architect. His masterpiece, commonly known as the "Warship Mansion," is a building with a design based on the motif of a warship with a steel exterior wall unit attached to the RC main body. At the time of completion, it was called "No. 3 Sky Building", then "New Sky Building", and now it is renamed "GUNKAN Higashi-Shinjuku Building".
