SPOILERS FOR ELDEN RING

So this video is more of a general take on the competitive scene, but from the point of view of someone that doesn't really play ranked modes, but still enjoy competitive games from time to time. It's also a hotspot for some of the most negative and toxic pools of gaming you can find, and it's rooted in having to deal with all different kinds of people. But on that same token, finding the right people can also mean that you'll eventually find like-minded people that you wanna be around, seeking out communities and networking with the right people, that can help you find your footing and if you're ambitious, a place in the esports world. This video isn't a cure and I know that people will disagree, that's fine. My initial objective was to see if I could spark some conversation on the topic, because I hear about the negative aspects all the time and why people quit. Again, it's important to also recognize the good sides of it which was the main objective for this video.

Awful Gameplay - 0:00
The Rest of the Video - 0:59
Minimally Improved Gameplay - 27:50

Notes:

- Xdefiant is okay. It might be a decent alternative for that want something more arcady than something tactical like Siege. Even then, I don't imagine it having much fuel in the tank, especially with some of the stuff coming out in June.

- Mental issues are a common element in the competitive scene. If the peer pressure and stress is only going to make it worse, then you don't need a coach or to play better, you need help.

- You don't have to like every competitive game, there's some I'm not a huge fan of, but I still look into what they do from a game design perspective.

- You can be competitive in other aspects of life. But if you disengage the thought process entirely in your gaming sessions, then you have to kill any expectations for the session and your performance.

- Very rusty with shooters at the moment. Haven't played them in a while let alone multiplayer. But it feels good to be playing them again.

- The other game I showed from time to time in the video that's like mw3 is called Combat Master. And the other two were N++ and Ultrakill.

- The movie shown is Eyes Wide Shut.

- I thought about beeping the Halo 2 and Modern Warfare 2 videos. But I felt it was important to show them unfiltered, to show that even those games had it's own levels of toxicity at the time.
