What is it about me that you know?
I guess “stupid” is my name in every group that I am in
‘Cause I’m the only one who’s treated like a joke

You would tap my temple as if I don’t have a brain
Now I’m just afraid to even speak
so I agreed with everything you said to make myself seem smart
and be someone you might want to see in me

You held the blade between my lips to cut the words laid on my tongue
so you can hide all of your shame
Gave you a bunch of my own flowers, made the thorns prick out my blood
for you to stay and validate my name

I hate how insecure your ego can be
When you do something wrong, you blame it on me
And now I’m just the one who makes everybody mad
‘Cause you wrote “stupid” on my name tag

I would second guess myself on every choice I make
‘Cause I’m scared of your disappointed screams
You made me feel unworthy to be loved like I’m the worst mistake
and a burden to the person of my dreams

Every day I wonder why you chose him over me
Like do I need to work on myself more?
But then I realized he is everything that I can never be
And he has everything that I cannot afford

I’ll be the author of my book where you’re the enemy alone and I’m the one who wins the battle at the end
‘cause I’m just sick of playing all the stupid characters you wrote to fit the part you’ll finally love me in
