The second episode in our second semi-trailer project focuses on the fit-out of the bathroom and bedroom where we we see some big changes. The basic semi-trailer interior starts to transform into a bright and airy space that starts to leave its truck stylings behind in favour of a fresh and liveable extension to our original tiny house build. Mike discusses techniques to achieve an earthy “rendered” wall look while coming up with an innovative composting toilet solution as well as displaying the ease of installing a window in an insulated refrigerated semi-trailer wall.

HOW WE GOT TO HERE
Years in the making, we (Heidi and Mike) researched, discussed and changed our lifestyle in preparation to "go tiny". -- Please follow our journey from humble beginnings in a tent through to our final grand tiny house build in our ex-refrigerated semi-trailer.

With no building experience, we ventured into the dark and fronted every challenge including difficult weather, budget constraints, minimising our lifestyle, needing to learn a mountain of new trades, a pandemic and much more.

I hope you enjoy the original semi-trailer series. Having a video production background, I tried to edit them in an entertaining way but bear in mind my first focus was building and not filming a documentary, so sometimes there is a lot of me talking! But I hope you find it engaging nonetheless!

Following on from the build, we will be releasing regular content that discusses minimalist living in greater detail, shows some of the features of our house plus talks about helpful considerations for building in a semi-trailer as a home. We’ll also be connecting with friends who live this way, talk about legalities, discuss the perks of tiny house living and more as the channel grows.
