I was looking at Lee Valley and saw the Veritas Prairie bench dogs. I really liked the concept of their workbench dogs, but I really don't have the money to indulge in such luxuries.
If you can afford the Veritas Prairie workbench dogs I suggest skipping this video, since these practically the same thing for ~%10 the cost of Prairie dogs.
I made these bench dogs using store bought material. The single push latch was from Home Depot in the cabinet hardware section; the cost was $1.98 at the time of this video. Still I am sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere.
The dowel is oak that I already had from a different project. I hope you enjoy these pop up bench dogs. They were easy, simple, and cheap, great bang for the buck. I guess you could call these Rat Moles!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed the popup workbench dogs.
