Schistosoma haematobium or urinary blood fluke is the only blood fluke that infects the urinary tract, causing Urinary Schistosomiasis in humans. As a result Bladder Cancer occurs. The disease is endemic in large areas of the Tropics & Subtropics. Schistosoma haematobium is endemic in 53 countries in the Middle East & most of the African continent. So it's a very important topic in Parasitology. In this video I have discussed about the epidemiology, global distribution, habitat & morphology of different life stages of the parasite.
