Here I make a new brass setting for a friction jewel, to replace a cracked third wheel jewel in my Waltham grade 225 pocket watch. I discuss relevant measurements, show the construction of the old rub-in jewel setting, and show lathe work and jeweling. I am not an expert in the use of the jeweling tool, and this is the first time I have attempted this repair. Constructive feedback is very welcome. Sorry also for my poor camera work at some points in the video - I am still getting the hang of this. Hopefully there are some parts that you think are an improvement in angle over previous videos. Thanks for watching!
