[The Best]
Ludlum Measurements, Inc. - http://ludlums.com - Metal, robust, tough.

[Over $100]

SE International - http://seintl.com - I have a few of these. Good features, quality build, lots of features.

International Medcom - https://medcom.com - Nearly the same as SE Int. My first unit was a Medcom

Gamma Scout - http://www.gammascout.com - Never used one, but many swear by these.

Mazur - http://www.mazurinstruments.com - Good competition to SE Int. Nearly bought one myself.

[Units Under $100 - At $100 you are scraping the bucket]

GMC-300E-Plus - This little guy is often under or around $100. I have never used one but I have heard good things, but I have heard good things from those who have.

RADEX RD1503 - Sometimes this shows up for under $100, or a little over. Many folks have told me this is a good unit, but I have not used it. The unit does not appear to have a CPM or CPS, which is a turn off for me... but it is a valid unit for the cost.

Kit units and tiny devices which plug into cell phones are also a good idea for the cost, but mostly for use a area monitors.

And who can't forget my favorite place to buy, http://GeigerCounters.com
