With the current global pandemic and uncertainty surrounding this upcoming fall semester, some of my students have brought up the idea of taking a semester off of college. Taking a semester off for mental health and saving money can be great if done correctly! In this video, I share the pros and cons of taking time off college, my own experience (and how Americorps could be a good program for you to explore), and how to restart strong when you re-enroll. Saving money in college while taking a semester off doesn't have to be difficult if you plan ahead and use the time to do some volunteering. No matter what you decide to do, no one should feel ashamed of needing to take time off school or potentially postponing their education! ❤️
