This video is a tutorial on how to disassemble a Lionel prewar or postwar era steam locomotive. There are differences between every engine, but this video covers the basics of the process that are (as far as I can tell) standard between engines. This video uses the Lionel 1666, 2-6-2 locomotive built in 1938.

I have been disassembling locomotives like this for years so I tried to cover as many of the things I have had to take apart as I could. I apologize for my occasionally confusing language, I am still learning what all the parts are called but I tried to be as clear as possible.

I hope you all enjoy and maybe find this video helpful in some way.
