Pacific Rim is a movie I love visually more than anything else, but the subpar writing and spectacular visuals are enhanced by Ramin Djawadi's fantastic score. One of my personal favorite themes being the one for the main antagonists, the Kaiju. Harkening back to the brass heavy, bombastic, imposing monster melodies composed for classic kaiju movies such as the work of Akira Ifukube, it's authenticity to that style is only enhanced by how menacing and dreadful the motif is. This is the first in a series of suites I will be making for this amazing score.
