Building on the webinar “Introduction to developing a Health National Adaptation Plan”, this session will dive deeper into the topic, focusing on the quality criteria of Health National Adaptation Plans (HNAPs).
The Quality Criteria provide examples of best practices in the development of HNAPs to help countries create a comprehensive, practical, and implementable plan. These criteria are designed to assist countries in establishing a solid foundation for a long-term, evolving HNAP process. While the criteria offer guidance, they are not prescriptive and should be tailored to the unique and shifting contexts of each country, changing climate conditions and advancements in knowledge and technology.
The quality criteria for HNAPs covers six topic areas: (1) Leadership and enabling environment, (2) Cross-sectoral coordination and policy coherence, (3) Comprehensive coverage of climate-sensitive health risks, (4) Comprehensive coverage of adaptation options and actions, (5) Resourcing, (6) Monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
The webinar will cover an introduction to the quality criteria, followed by the sharing of country experiences and interactive small-group activities and discussions.
