Fishes are ammonotelic. That means their waste material is ammonia. Plants cannot directly absorb ammonnia. so with the help of grow beds or MBBRs we convert the ammonnia into nitrites first and then we will convert nitrites to nitrates.
nitrates can be easily absorbed by plants.

ആ അമ്മോണിയാ യെ ബാക്റ്റീരിയ ആദ്യം nitrites ആക്കി മാറ്റുന്നു
പിന്നീട് വേറെ ചില ബാക്റ്റീരിയകൾ നൈട്രട്സ് നെ നൈട്രേറ്റസ് ആക്കി മാറ്റുന്നു
നൈട്രേറ്റസ് നെ ചെടികൾ വലിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു
