We managed to find a truly local Vietnamese market and it was such an experience! We were overwhelmed by the smells that changed at every stall and the amount of things we never saw before. Local markets are a journey within the journey: a great way to see the reality of a country with its culture, traditions, and essence.

Our backpacking trip begins in the North of Vietnam in Hanoi (Hà Nội), heading South as far as Hoi An (Hội An) and back again.
