Ngoenga school for tibetan children with special needs is run by department of health,Central Tibetan Admininstration.it is the first special school for tibetan children with disablities living in exile.
In 1997 his holiness the 14th Dalai lama of Tibet,Tenzin Gyatso,expressed his benevolent desire to establish a school for tibetan children with special needs.He very generoulsy donated the seed money,and Ngoenga school opened in March 2000 with 26 students.The school's name"Ngoenga" was conferred by his holiness the Dalai lama,who visited and blesses the school in 2001 and again in 2003.
