The Protrail is one of the most popular shelters from Tarptent. I decided to buy it based on the weight, price, strong fabrics and vertical end walls. I’m only 183 cm (6 feet) tall, yet still too many tents have their insect netting resting too close to my face. The Protrail doesn’t have this problem. Hiking poles are something that I almost always take with me on backpacking trips, so it’s very convienent to replace a traditional tent pole with what I already carry.
