The song written by Roy and Norman Petty in 1957 has been speculated about for the last 65 years with many believing that Roy had never actually made a recording of it or that it was a possible re-working of the Roy Orbison & Johnny Wilson tune I've Had It. We can now say with confidence that neither is true. My research shows that the song was recorded at Sun Studio in Memphis on 20 August 1957 and through my correspondence with Sun Records they have confirmed that no master recording exists.
