The Oakland Public Library hosted a conversation between award-winning author Tommy Orange and 2019 Oakland Youth Poet Laureate Samuel Getachew at the Oakland Museum of California on November 1, 2019.

Tommy and Samuel discussed Tommy's highly-acclaimed novel, There There, growing up in Oakland, and the city's changing landscape in this in-depth discussion. Local comedian and activist Jackie Keliiaa (@jackiecomedy) emceed the discussion and Q&A.
