This was an exciting ending, as victory was nearly robbed ON THE VERY LAST LAP!
What makes this really special is this was the comeback race for Rob Stephens. Rob had been away from racing for 2-3 years, and this was his very first meeting in his comeback. His father, Tony Stephens was the President for the North Harbour Radio Controlled Car Club for many years - and unfortunately he passed away recently. So it's incredibly fitting that Rob was able to honour his memory by winning his first race back.

Tony Stephens worked incredibly hard for the club, selflessly putting in a lot of time running race meetings ~ even when he wasn't racing himself. He would run the software, self taught - and spend a lot of his time dealing with some of the logistics of handling track barriers. He pushed for an outdoor venue and facilitated the move to Northcote, as the club continued to race indoor and outdoor venues (which created a lot of extra work!). We are honoured to be able to bring you this race and respect his memory. Rest in Peace Tony.
