Chief Inspector 1958 will serve as a prequel to the classic Korean series, which ran for 18 years and achieved incredible peak ratings, in which its titular character navigates the political turmoil of Seoul in his youth.

While the original show was set in the 1970s present day at the time, the upcoming drama will be set even earlier in the late 1960s.
