The CELTIBÉRICA WHITE goat is in danger of extinction. There are approximately 6000 specimens concentrated, almost all of them in the Sierra del Segura, in the province of Albacete.
In Spain there are 7 or 8 populations of white goats, all of them with important differences that allow them to be clearly differentiated from one another.
Most of these nuclei are distributed by the coastal mountain ranges of the Levante Iberico.
In the province of Albacete there is one of these white goat nuclei, specifically in the wildest areas of the Sierra del Segura.
Its origin is somewhat controversial since the Sierra del Segura is very far from the historical region of Celtiberia, where since ancient times there has been another nucleus of morphologically very different white goat.
