Mark, Daisy, and Jay head out into the Adirondack High Peaks to continue their journey to become ADK 46ers! In this video, the crew heads up Esther Mountain (4,239') and Whiteface Mountain (4,867') for numbers 25 and 26 of 46 High Peaks.

These were the first two high peaks of 2019, and the trail was an excellent combination of steep ascents, deep mud, and awesome scrambles. Whiteface, the 5th tallest mountain in NY, is also a ski mountain with a very popular access road (Veterans Memorial Highway) to the summit. Once we reached the top, we were greeted by hundreds of people, warm sandwiches, and ice cold sodas!

NOTE: it was recently brought to my attention (thanks Elie) that the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) does not allow folks to walk up/down the shoulder of Veteran's Memorial Highway while during business hours due to the increased risk this presents. I was unaware of this regulation, and I wanted to share it with you all as soon as I found out so you can make informed decisions! Be safe out there!
