Momoko Onodera, whose grandfather is a famous Japanese-style painter, is conducting research on the creation of new devices with graphene. Graphene research was begun by flipping crystals with cellophane tape to thin the graphite. She says the process is like a craft or game. She uses various devices available at the Machida Lab. A device made like a craftsman is beautiful, like a microcosm. Her regard of a device as a microcosm suggests that science as a whole is a work of art!
