In this video, I make a set of Shou Sugi Ban inspired cornhole boards. Shou Sugi Ban (aka burned Cedar), is a technique used to provide additional hardiness to wood, but in this case it's purely for decoration.

The top is charred Cedar encased in epoxy, along with a few coats of wipe-on poly to reduce the sheen a bit, the frame is hard Maple joined with hand-cut dovetails.

I decided to attach Ambrosia Maple legs with dowels so as to avoid a bolt showing on the outside of the frame. The legs look nice but they aren't quite as structurally sound as I would have liked.
