Marie Ascot at Cannock Chase, German Military Cemetery Staffordshire.
The Cemetery has 5,000 burials from both the First and Second World War. The burials are mainly German and Austrian nationals with a very small number of Ukrainians. There is also a bronze sculpture of a fallen warrior, by the eminent German sculptor, Professor Hans Wimmer and graves to killed Zeppelin pilots.

I also visit Katyn Memorial.
In the Katyn Forest near Smolensk Russia, a dark atrocity took place which ended the lives of many Polish people. Several countries blamed the Germans, including the UK. Some time later in the 1990’s Russia officially admitted they were responsible.
I finish up with a walk around this beautiful country park with tea and cake at the Spring Slade cafe.
