“Oh man i can’t wait to start experimenting more in this year’s af” listens to kanpai funk “so I will be starting off with a mass attack”
I tapped into that inner energy and worked mindlessly on this for 3 days never thought I’d do a mass attack in video form no less
Every character is so pretty I had fun drawing them^^ biggest apologies if I got anything wrong 🥲

This section is me rambling about the video itself and its process, it’s like a personal log so feel free to ignore :,,)

I have… a lot to talk about this video. But first I wanna take back everything negative I said about tweening because this shit is hard 😭 getting the bounce to look right and consistent took more time than drawing the parts, not to mention making it line up with the music uuugghhhh. In the end i guess I barely passed, not good but I didn’t fail miserably either
Next is the color palette. In the og mv the color variety is pretty minimal plus the characters are simple so it works, then I completely butchered it here… not only did I used way more tones than I needed I also didn’t use them properly so some characters end up looking weird😞 I even considered making the palette the colors of stardust and seafoam but i thought they didn’t really pop like red and blue
I made quite a few mistakes. First is making the fps too low for a video that mainly consists of tweening, I was afraid of my iPad exploding so I went with 25 instead of 30 or higher, I thought about this pretty early on but brushed it off because what can a 5 frame difference do? I was very wrong. Even a single frame can screw you over hard. Second mistake was more like a choice but I should’ve separated the characters into different parts so they look less stiff when they move, I did it for some of them in the later part, but hey maybe it’s a good thing because the layers drove me insane. My third and biggest mistake is rushing in without any planning, whenever I needed to draw a character I just grabbed someone from my bookmarks, it’s probably why the art started looking ugly towards the end (sorry… I promise I can draw better than this). I simplified a lot of things such as my art style and the designs to work more smoothly but the characters ended up looking too similar oof
Am I happy with the result? Yes because I managed to finish something I’ve never done before, it makes me want to make more videos and I learned a lot of things. And also no because it’s underbaked and I could’ve done better (ahem lyrics text where). I drew everything in procreate and imported them into toonsquid to edit (yes it’s an animation app but I don’t vibe with drawing in it). When will they update Dreams so it can be an actual good animation app…
I’m still pretty much an amateur in both animation and editing in general so why am I talking like I know what I’m saying lmao
