Originally written by Canadian teenager Bonnie Dobson in 1962 as an anti-war folk-type song, contemplating life after a nuclear war. She almost lost the rights to her own song in a protracted legal battle.

It sets a dark tone for a post-apocalyptic world, posed as a conversation that ultimately demonstrates the end of the world.

Tim Rose, recorded it in 1967 and claimed it as his song. He is a successful American singer songwriter, who incorrectly claimed writing credits. In 1998, it was fully restored to Bonnie Dobson.
