Jog Falls is the second highest waterfall in India located in Karnataka. The fall is about 30 kms from Sagar, 100 kms from Shimoga and 400 kms from Bangalore. The fall is on river Sharavati. Water falls from a hight of 270 meters. There are four main streams of the fall called as, Raja, Rani, Roarer and Rocket. There is nice arrangement to view the waterfall. Going down to the water is not allowed as it is too risky, though some people managed to get down through different routes. There is a hydro electricity project called Mahatma Gandhi Hydro Electricity Project which is visible from there.
