Before I bought my 182, most of my time was in a Cessna 172's. The transition isn't a particularly hard one, but there are definitely things that feel WAY different on other airplanes than the 172's we fly in training. I get asked this question a lot, so I wanted to put together my take on the main differences I experienced when moving from a 172 to a 182 (and other aircraft).
