As a mother to a daughter with autism, I've learned that progress isn't measured by conventional timelines but by the courage and resilience she shows every day. Mikko may not be her physical age but she is smart and charismatic in every way.

Mikko’s mental age is more behind than some of her physical skill sets and that is ok, we work with her in every way.

In the Autistic community and even parenthood community we compare our experiences with others either in hopes that someone can benefit from it or even some just to shame other families. I find that a lot of people hide behind social media in order to project their own insecurities and struggles. As much as you’d like to believe you know everything about someone, you just don’t.

My hope is for Mikko to feel confident and brave throughout life and embrace her struggles in order to overcome and achieve them.

We are working with Professionals and hope to share updates when we feel the time is right.
